Frequently Asked Questions about Bail Bonds

How much does it cost to bail out of jail?

It depends.  Bail math can be a little counter-intuitive, especially when there are several charges with small bonds, but the short answer is while there's not really an upper limit, the cheapest you can get out on bail for is $160.  That's one bond of $1000 or less in city court.  It goes up from there and it can add up fast.  For example, a 1st offense DUI arrest (no accident) is typically $1000.  But there are usually a couple of charges to go with the DUI charge (improper lane use, no seatbelt, etc.).  That would raise the cost to between $300 to $500 to get out, depending on how many charges they add.  We have a page that explains bail pricing in more detail, and we have a bond calculator you can use to get an estimate and see how the different bond amounts can add up, but the best way to find out the exact price it to call Bayou Bail Bonds any time day or night!

What if I don't have enough money?

At Bayou Bail Bonds, we understand that you probably didn't have this on your schedule or in your budget when you woke up this morning.  We do everything we can to make the process easy and affordable.  While we don't offer $0 down bonds, we will work with you to find a down payment and a payment plan that works for you and yoru budget.  Give us a call today to see what's possible!

How quickly can I get released after posting bail?

Release times vary depending on a lot of different factors including how busy the jail is, and they can vary a lot.  When they're not busy, it is possible to get out in as little as 30 minutes after the cosigner signs the paperwork and pays.  Other times it can take... longer.  An average wait time is around 1-2 hours, but we've seen it take a lot longer.  Unfortunately, once the paperwork has been submitted to the jail, we're at the mercy of their process and there's not anything we can to do to rush them.  What I can assure you is that you won't be waiting on me.  I'll be ready to get them out and get them home as quickly as possible and we'll keep you updated every step of the way.

What information do I need to bail someone out of jail?

Not much actually.  For the cosigner, we'll need your name, address & phone number along with your driver's license info, DOB, & SSN.  There's a little more to it for the defendant, but we can usually get that from them when we get them out of jail.  For a more detailed description of the paperwork and a complete list of information needed, please see our page about paperwork.

Do I need to come to your office to bail someone out?

Absolutely not.  Bayou Bail Bonds specializes in being a mobile bail bonds service.  We can take your information over the phone or through email and send the paperwork to you to sign on your phone.  You can pay using CashApp, Venmo, or PayPal, so you can complete the entire process without getting out of bed.  If you prefer to fill out and sign the paperwork in person or pay in cash, we can meet you at the jail, the court house, or any convenient location to complete the process.  If you have further questions, see our page on the paperwork process, or give us a call right now and we'll answer your questions.  We'll do everything we can to make it as easy as possible for you.

How do I contact you after hours?

At Bayou Bail Bonds, we're open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays.  You can get in touch with us through phone or by text at (318) 538-7877 or through email at brad@bayoubailbonds.net, whichever way you prefer.  My cell phone rings louder than my text or email alert, so if it's an emergency, that's probably the best way.

What types of charges do you handle?

While we don't handle federal or immigration bonds, we handle pretty much everything else.  We understand that there's a difference between being accused of a crime and being convicted of it.  At Bayou Bail Bonds, we're not going to judge you based off an accusation.  If you or a loved one is in OCC and you've got a bond set, give us a call and we'll do everything we can to help you get out now!

Is your service discreet?

Absolutely.  We handle every case with confidentiality and professionalism.  Our mobile services ensures that you don't ever need to visit a public office.  At Bayou Bail Bonds, we understand that it's nobody else's business what you're going through.  You will not find a bail bonds company who will treat you with more respect on your worst day.
